BELGRANO - BUENOS AIRES - |
||||||
Belgrano is one of the most residential and refined neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. It´s name evokes the figure of Manuel Belgrano, one of the most important protagonists of Argentine history.It was designed by Carlos Thays, french architect that was hired by Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, responsible for many of the most beautiful parks of the city like the Botanical garden.The neighborhood is divided in 3 very well defined parts. Bajo Belgrano, Belgrano central and Belgrano R. The first area is the closest to the river. Belgrano Central is crossed by Cabildo avenue, where countless bus lines can be found, as well as the recently opened subway, which takes the passenger to the center of the city, going through the neighborhoods of Palermo, Barrio Norte, Medical School, all to Florida street. It is very close to the north of the city, Vicente Lopez, San Isidro and surroundings, letting you access even more residential areas. In Cabildo av you can find all sorts of stores, from clothes, the best brands, to furniture, as well as restaurants, bars, theaters, museums and cinemas. The nighlife keeps on till dawn. Belgrano R is more select, still housing the traditional petit-hotels and great anglo-sajon residences, surrounded by leafy trees and gardens.
